Local history was estate’s inspiration

The vision is to create an urban orchard, incorporating fruit trees and herb gardens into parklands, streets and the front landscaping of new homes.

Managing director Mark Hector said the history of horticulture in the area had prompted QUBE to take a fresh approach when designing Hammond Grove estate.

“Hammond Grove will not only nurture an intimate, close-knit community feel, but it will also encourage a culture based around freshness and a healthy lifestyle,” he said.

The land sales office will open later this year and will provide future residents with a taste of what to expect, with a selection of fruit trees and herb gardens to pick from alongside the estate plans and information.

The design for Hammond Grove also includes a large, central area of parkland that will become a venue for community events and activities.

Just 207 lots are being created in the first phase of Hammond Grove,

The first 31 blocks have been released and range from 300sq m to 419sq m, with prices starting at $253,000.

The estate is on Wattleup Road, on the western side of the Kwinana Freeway.

Mr Hector said it was on what was considered the premium side of the freeway and believed it was well-positioned for buyers looking at growth in land values.

Figures from RP Data indicated the median price of land in Hammond Park had risen 42 per cent since January 2011, compared to 30 per cent growth for the same period for Wandi, on the opposite side of the freeway.

The new development is just a short drive to Cockburn Gateway Shopping City.

There is easy access to the Kwinana Freeway and the new Aubin Grove train station, due to open in 2017, will be minutes away.

Hammond Park Primary School and North Parmelia Primary School are also nearby, together with a proposed neighbourhood centre.

“Close to existing amenities and transport hubs yet just a stone’s throw from parks and regional open spaces, Hammond Grove is in a prime location, making it an attractive new address for a wide range of buyers,” Mr Hector said.
