Summit Homes workplace is tops

Keren BellosEastern Reporter

SUMMIT Homes Group’s team had another reason to smile after the company won back-to-back titles as one of Australia’s best workplaces.

The Myaree-based building company ranked ninth in the ninth annual Best Places to Work Study’s more than 100 employees category after placing seventh last year.

It was the only builder and company with WA headquarters to make the national list from Great Place to Work, with tech firms dominating and software provider Salesforce in top spot.

The award is further recognition for Summit’s excellence in leadership in employee programs, extensive training, open-door management, new office facilities and commitment to the community and charities.

Group managing director David Simpson said the independent study highlighted the strength of the positive attitude that had defined Summit for close to 40 years.

“This news is obviously very welcome and the result would not have been possible without the camaraderie, motivation, transparency and passion that our employees share at work every day,” he said.

While the team worked hard and enjoyed their work, the clients also reaped the rewards.

“Homebuyers have every reason to be excited by this news,” Mr Simpson said.

“Building a home takes passion and choosing a builder that has a happy and motivated team, because they work in one of Australia’s best workplaces, has obvious flow on benefits because ultimately homebuyers will be receiving an unmatched level of service and transparency that comes from an environment where enthusiasm is rewarded and encouraged.”

The award win comes as the builder is having a buoyant year with the $20m redevelopment of its Myaree headquarters progressing on schedule.
