WA developers take out gongs at Property Council of Australia Innovation and Excellence Awards

TWO WA developments were recognised at the 2016 Property Council of Australia Innovation and Excellence Awards.

The award for Best Affordable Housing Development was presented to the WA Housing Authority for its ‘One on Aberdeen’ development in Perth’s CBD.

“The ‘One on Aberdeen’ project is an innovative example of how government and industry can partner to deliver outstanding affordability outcomes,” Property Council of Australia chief executive Ken Morrison said.

The Housing Authority worked with Diploma Properties on the 13-storey development, which consists of seven commercial and 161 one- and two-bedroom residential units.

It achieved 50 per cent affordability by incorporating a range of housing options, including social and affordable rental, traditional rental and home ownership and shared home ownership.

LandCorp received the Best Business or Industrial Park award for Enterprise Park in Perth.

The first stage of Enterprise Park was released in 1989 and is now home to 250 commercial, service, manufacturing and light industrial businesses.

It has delivered $37 billion to the economy.

The award winners were announced at a gala dinner at The Star Event Centre in Sydney on June 3.
