Free family friendly Fringe fun at Fr’Inglewood

INTRODUCING Inglewood’s first dip into the world of Fringe, Fr’Inglewood is adding a slice of family fun to Monday nights at the Inglewood Night Markets for five weeks from January 14.

Fr’Inglewood will feature a wide variety of acts performing highlights from their Perth Fringe World shows.

These free events at the Inglewood Town Square from 6:15pm include a fun mix of child-friendly dance, singalongs, circus, acrobatics and music.

There is also a focus on talented local artists and performers with WA’s Homegrown Heroes.

There will be musical variety in the form of the nine-piece Milford Street Shakers with a live showcase from its Soul Slap! performance.

Forever in my Life is a tribute to performer Prince with a taster of songs, stories and musings from Fringe artist Michael Wheatley, who performed the lead role in the Australian Prince show in the early 90s.

Even more soul music comes in the form of Movin’ Melvin Brown’s, 50s 60s black soul music plus tap.

Family entertainment is well covered at Fr’Inglewood with entertainment for children of all ages.

Do you SEA me? is a singalong, LED-light juggling, circus, a sea shanty circus show on the high seas.

Let it go! Singalong and Dance encourages everyone including mum and dad to join in the fun with favourite songs from kids’ films.

Unicorns Skyla and Felicity take children on an enchanted, magical journey to try and find their very own unicorn friend in the ever popular How to Catch a Unicorn.

And lastly, Pirates!! takes groups of children on an imaginary adventure in search of treasure while seamlessly integrating the children’s input into the plot.

If you want to see the funny side of Fringe World that is covered too.

For fun, circus entertainment try YUCK! Circus – a powerhouse of female circus performers using high-flying acrobatics combined with comedy and dance.

And for those looking for a serious Monday night laugh there is I can make you Irish, a stand-up comedy show from award winning comic Mary Bourke on what it means to be ‘authentically Irish’.
