New Catholic Homes community in Guildford

Lucy RutherfordSponsored

CELEBRATING 50 years serving WA’s ageing community and continuing to grow with a new home open in Guildford, Catholic Homes is doing something right.

St Vincent’s, which has been serving the aged community since the mid ’60s, is very much a part of Guildford’s history, complete with a full and colourful past.

The new St Vincent’s is a contemporary facility designed with the Catholic Homes’ values of joy, love and hospitality in mind.

Situated on the banks of the Swan River in Guildford, the two-storey building is designed to connect to the natural environment, comprising 85 single rooms with ensuites and one couple’s suite with double bed and sitting room.

As part of the redevelopment, the Bebo Moro homestead has been retained and restored to its former glory to house the Day Therapy Centre.

It is home to a gymnasium, physiotherapy and podiatry rooms, GP, communal lounge and pastoral care offices.

The centre is available to both St Vincent’s residents and the wider community.

St Vincent’s manager Lorraine Wallis said all existing St Vincent’s residents were excited about moving into their new home.

“The staff are grateful for the redevelopment, contemporary design and modern technology,” she said.

“Our residents are now enjoying the river views and landscaped gardens from their rooms and living spaces.

“The new facility is very modern, but we will still have the same friendly Catholic Homes staff and Care with Purpose is at the forefront of everything we do.”

Catholic Homes consistently receives state and national awards for aged care services and continues to raise the bar in best practice in the industry.

Many residents and team members believe one of the most impactful reasons for their success can be attributed to the way the care is provided and the approach taken.

Care with Purpose is the model which is practised by all staff, embodying the Montessori Approach, designed to help residents and home care patrons to live healthier, happier and in many cases longer lives.

Catholic Homes is the leading aged care provider in WA practising the Montessori Approach.
