SWAN Districts and Fremantle AFLW captain Kara Donnellan is looking forward to rejoin her teammates for the second AFLW pre-season which kicks off on November 20.

Donnellan captained Swans to their third straight premiership following a seventh-place finish with Fremantle in the inaugural AFLW season.

The 25-year-old said she started training as part of her “pre pre-season” block.

“On November 20, we get together as a group down at Freo,” she said.

“I am sure there will be lots of running, game play and big scrimmage-type things.

“I am mostly looking forward to just getting together with the girls and starting something pretty special hopefully for 2018.”

Donnellan said it was a special feeling to share an AFLW experience with several Swans premiership teammates.

“They are family members to me; I have known a lot of them for the five years I have been here,” she said. “This season in the WAWFL, we were lucky enough to win all three premierships.

“It is icing on the cake to enjoy the Freo season with some of my really good Swans mates.”
