A BASSENDEAN resident was one of two boxers who raised $6000 for charity at the CDL Super Card on May 7.

Amateur boxers Allan Leslie and Shane Artemis from Myaree competed in an exhibition fight in North Perth to raise money for their chosen charities.

Leslie lost to Artemis by an unanimous decision.

Event organiser Ty Colman, who is also a Malaga gym owner, said the fighters faced a tough challenge prior to the event. He said there were over a thousand people at the event.

Meanwhile, WA’s Nathaniel May (20) jumped into the world’s top 15-ranked players after he took out the IBF Australasian Featherweight boxing title.
