Another milestone as Pies loom

Josh KennedyEastern Reporter

SATURDAY was the culmination of a difficult week that Im still getting my head around.

We'd played the week before in Darwin, while Adelaide were playing for the first time since the death of Phil Walsh.

We respected the occasion and so did our fans but also couldn't lose sight of the fact that it was an important game for us.

We have been aiming to improve on last year and now we have equalled the performance of 2014 by notching up 11 wins.

We need to win another game and that is our immediate target.

Then we'll re-assess things.

With everything else going on around the game, one thing that was missed to some extent was the 100-game milestone of Luke Shuey.

And didn't he turn it on.

As a forward, there is no better sight than seeing Boots charging through the midfield and eyeing off the options.

It was great to see him hit triple figures and that means he will be the first player at the club to get his name plastered on the No.13 locker.

Like most blokes who get to 100 games there have been some challenges along the way for him.

He worked through those issues and has become a very important player.

His understanding with Nic Naitanui is amazing and some of those centre clearances featured in the highlights reel we watched in a team meeting during the week.

This week we will celebrate another 100-game milestone with Andrew Gaff.

Also this week, we look forward to playing Collingwood.
