Youngsters Jeffrey Nyagwaya and Lachy Ewen claimed the under-18s player of the year and runner-up player of the year respectively.

Event co-ordinator Juliana Scilipoti said the event was a great day out on the green at Ashfield Reserve.

“This year we engaged a more casual and affordable approach to the end of season function which opened it up to all players as well as young families,” she said.

President Bill Busby said the club was proud of their club champions.

“All players were extremely deserving of the awards won and it is a great reflection of their efforts in the 2016 season,” he said.

Newly appointed head coach Matt Wardle said it was great to see familiar faces back on board at Ashfield.

“We now turn to focus on the coming season which will hopefully be a great season for the club on and off the field,” he said.

“Many people are determined to make this happen.”

The club is looking to add to their current playing squad across all three.
