BALGA Sports Club’s newly appointed amateurs manager is hoping the soccer club makes a strong return to the Sunday Amateur Leagues.
The club has not fielded teams in the Amateur Leagues since their senior teams progressed to the State League ranks.
Manager Bill Byrne, who has coached at all levels in WA, said he was excited to manage the first and reserves teams.

READ NOW“My immediate goal is to build a squad for two teams, so about 32 to 34 players are needed,” he said.
“We already have a core base from the social team and I am currently busy recruiting.”
Byrne said he was hungry to replicate the previous success he achieved as a coach in WA and Sydney.
“I am a coach who likes to win but I like to do so by playing good, aggressive, attacking football with players who also like to win,” he said.
“Although we are starting from scratch in the lower amateur league, I will expect commitment and performance from all my players for the whole season.
“I am a lover of good football and I get great satisfaction in building teams to play good football.”
Byrne said the squad had about 16 social players from last season and commitment from eight players.
“There are still opportunities for any interested players to come down to pre-season which starts on January 12,” he said.
