Bayswater coach Coyne confident players will bounce back against Cockburn

BAYSWATER City coach Chris Coyne wants his side to bounce back to winning ways this weekend.

Coyne said Bayswater’s 3-0 loss to Stirling last Saturday was a performance to forget and the team had regrouped to focus on Saturday’s clash against Cockburn.

“The boys were not at the races last weekend but we have addressed the issues and we have made sure that we will not have a repeat performance this weekend,” Coyne said.

“They have had all week to get over it and we have had them in for extra training. It is an important two to three weeks for the group and we will ensure that the players have no excuses this week.”

While defender Nathan Costello was in line for a recall, Coyne said others could be dropped from the side.

“We will have Costello available this week, there will be changes as the level of performance means that we will need to make some changes,” he said.

He said the preparation for the Cockburn game had been “excellent” so far.

“The players have worked hard and they have put last week behind them,” he said.

“Cockburn are a very good team and they have some exciting attacking players.

“They knocked us out of the FFA Cup this year so we are very wary of them and understand that they will make it very hard for us on Saturday.”
