Bayswater-Morley look set for defeat against Wanneroo

BAYSWATER-Morley look set for defeat after a disappointing display with both bat and ball against Wanneroo on day one of their Round Five Premier Cricket match at Kingsway Reserve on Saturday.

The Bears were rolled for just 133 in their first innings, with Josh Philippe the standout after a well-compiled 38.

Youngsters Mitch Todd and Jake Lewis tried hard, however the Roos bowlers were relentless in their approach.

In response, the Bears could only capture two wickets, as Wanneroo reached 2-83 from 30 overs by the close of play.

Nathan Rimmington was the pick of the bowlers with 2-31 as he pushes for Sheffield Shield selection next week.

Mitch McGee (32n.o.) and Dan Lawrence (36n.o.) will be in the middle when play resumes on Saturday at 11.40am.
