Run by Vision Impaired and Blind Bowlers of Western Australia (VIBBWA), the championships have attracted more than 120 blind and visually impaired bowlers and their directors, with 20 bowlers representing WA.

Bowlers are aged between 20 and 90 and have less than 10 per cent vision, with directors acting as their guides on the green.

Bedford Bowling Club president Eric Edelson said it was the first time the club had hosted the championships, with next year’s competition to be held in South Australia.
