NORANDA Junior Cricket Club under-17s team is looking to achieve more glory in the upcoming Bayswater-Morley Mt Lawley Joint Cricket Council finals series, after winning the U17s Community Cup.

Noranda beat Kingsley Woodvale in the under-17s Community Cup grand final on February 19.

The club’s under-16/17s final series campaign will start in March after finishing on top of the ladder.

Coach Chris Todd said the majority of his team have played with each other for several years.

“As far as our (one day) finals series going forward, I would expect them to be super competitive in every game that we play and would be mildly disappointed if we did not win,” he said.

“We are pretty confident that we will be as competitive as we have been in the last two or three seasons.”

Todd said some under-17 players also played in Bayswater-Morley and Mt Lawley cricket clubs’ district competitions.
