Football: Edmund Rice Centre WA’s multicultural talent showcased at annual Harmony Cup

EDMUND Rice Centre WA’s latest crop of junior footy players showcased their goal kicking prowess at the annual Harmony Cup this week.

Female and male players from the Mirrabooka-based centre’s junior and youth academies took part in two matches at Barry Britton Reserve in Balga on September 26.

The family event highlighted the growth of talent and awareness of AFL among multicultural youth.

In 2010, the centre launched Australia’s first multicultural AFL team, the Edmund Rice Lions followed by the creation of Young Lions, Butler Falcons and Young Falcons teams from 2013 to 2014.
