East Perth was defeated to end the regular season.

It was the side’s third loss in the last 14 games, but it came as they were looking to establish a good placing in the top eight with just one week remaining before finals.

After leading for the majority of the game, the Eagles had held the Redbacks to just 48 points with four minutes remaining in the third quarter. But the Eagles lost the 10-point lead they held, and allowed Perth to score 43 points in 16 minutes, largely from the efforts of American Lee Roberts for the Redbacks who finished the game with 29 points and 17 rebounds. Kyle Armour did all he could to keep the Eagles in the contest before fouling out with 22 points and nine rebounds.

Jamie Barnett provided some depth with 12 points.

Coach Adam Forde said the side let themselves down. ‘Sloppy fouls and selfish plays allowed Perth to get back into the game,’ he said.
