DIANELLA hockey player Aiden Lowes has been selected to represent Australia at next year’s European Indoor Hockey Tour.

Lowes was also picked in the state under-21s indoor hockey squad.

Fellow WA stars Mark Ellis and Ben Rennie will join Lowes on the European tour after the trio was chosen at a recent training camp in Canberra.

Australian men’s indoor hockey head coach Steve Willer said the athletes improved their skills and knowledge at the camp.

“The camp was a fantastic opportunity to work with athletes identified as having the ability, skills and potential to represent Hockey Australia in Indoor Hockey,” he said.

“The athletes were introduced to a high intensity, attacking style of play with a glimpse into the concepts and tactics to be taken into the 2018 Indoor Hockey World Cup.”

The Australian team will travel through Europe over two weeks in January 2017.

WA’s final under-21 team will be announced on November 8, representing the state at the 2017 Australian Indoor Championships .
