Lazers are beaming in swimming championships

Based at Balga Leisure Park, The Lazers had five swimmers compete in the 2015 Swimming Championships in Sydney where the club finished 21st out of 155 and ninth on the medal tally.

Tommy Sucipto, who has been selected in the Australian national squad, won silver in the 50m breaststroke, second to Olympian Christian Sprenger who was 0.22 quicker on the day.

Madeleine Scott brought home gold for the Lazers after winning the 50m butterfly and claimed the world record for her classification.

The club’s juniors also performed well at the recent State Junior Long Course Championships, with Caleb Long taking bronze in the 10-12-year-old 200m breaststroke.
