Maylands Tennis Club senior coach lobs for more junior members

Jack Baldwin (24) has been a tennis coach since 2009 after a playing at junior state league level.

Baldwin, who is a qualified Tennis Australia Club Professional Coach, recently joined the Maylands club after a six-year stint as a senior coach at Onslow Park Tennis Club.

Baldwin said he saw a lot of potential in the future of Maylands.

“It feels good to be given the opportunity; the members here are very welcoming and very helpful in building this full-time role,” he said.

“My biggest goal is focused on juniors and getting kids here. Before I got here, there were no kids, so I will be pushing the Tennis Australia Hot Shots.”

Baldwin said he hoped to increase the club’s current member count of 80.

“There are already some great, solid and competitive pennants teams that have been here for a number of years,” he said.

“I am trying to get any new members, junior pennants teams off the ground, trying to get kids through the door; that is my main focus.”
