MORLEY Bulldogs Junior Football Club pulled out pink socks for a special game for breast cancer awareness last week.

All three junior teams played at home on Sunday and wore pink socks to raise funds for the McGrath Foundation Pull On Your Socks day.

It was the first time all teams played at home on the same day.

President Dave Lyons said the disease affected some parents.

“One of our parents has been through breast cancer for the last 18 months… she is a champion for the cause,” Lyons said.

“Currently, there is another mum who is suffering from it and she is only 24 years old.”

Lyons said the club looked to continue to support the charity.

“Our aim is to expand this annual event to the Auskick and Modifieds next year, and have a pink weekend of football,” he said.
