NORANDA Junior Cricket Club hopes to expand from four to 15 teams in the upcoming season through two registration days this weekend.

The club is based at Deschamp Reserve and caters for players aged five to 16 years of age.

President Andrew Calvert said three out of four teams won flags last season but the club wanted more success.

“We start off from scratch each year with registration days,” he said.

“We actually have been getting lower and lower (numbers) in the last couple of years.

“I would like to see as a club to become a 10 to 15 team club.”

Calvert said he wanted more junior girls to join the club’s in2cricket teams.

“I also like to start attracting more girls into the club because they are starting to push for a girls league which will be great,” he said.

Registration days will be held on Saturday and Sunday, from 1pm to 3pm.
