Opinion: Dockers fandom a rollercoaster ride but I’ll never get off

AS a Fremantle Football Club member, you feel like you are on a constant rollercoaster ride.

Sometimes you are up and sometimes you are as low as it can go.

Saturday night was one of those nights.

Coming off a deplorable effort against the Western Bulldogs, I thought we would bounce back.

Wrong.

It was deja-vu; season 2001 anyone?

It is so hard to watch the team confused and making silly skill errors while up-and-coming players run rings around them.

Has the game passed us, are we too old and too slow?

After watching them these last two weeks, we quite possibly could be.

Ross the Boss has asked us to “keep the faith” and Brownlow medallist Nat Fyfe has told us the players have not lost faith – but it is hard.

Having come off three seasons in which we made the grand final, finished in the top four and were minor premiers, it is a hard pill to swallow when you are sitting un-pretty equal last at the bottom of the ladder.

Will Ross pull a rabbit out of a hat against our cross-town rivals this weekend?

I hope so, because this ride is making me nauseous, but I can promise you, I will never get off.
