Premier Cricket: Bayswater-Morley downed by Melville in last-over classic

BAYSWATER-Morley have gone down in a classic affair against Melville at Hillcrest Oval in round 11 of Premier Cricket on Saturday

The Storm chased the target of 8-207 down in the final over from Jonty Wilde with two wickets in hand in a thriller.

Rhys Hampson led the charge for the Bears with 81, while Rob Guy chipped in with 30, as the side posted 8-207 from 50 overs.

Wilde then tried hard with the ball taking two wickets, while new recruit Cameron Valente took 1-42 from 10 overs.

Drew Porter carried Melville home with 35 n.o. as the side reached the total with five balls remaining.

The result leaves the Bears practically out of the finals race down in 11th with 31 points.
