BAYSWATER-Morley left Gosnells’ finals hopes in tatters after a dominant opening day at Sutherlands Park in their Round 14 Premier Cricket fixture on Saturday.

The 11th-placed Bears, who cannot make the finals with two rounds to play, finished all out for 343 and in a commanding position at stumps.

Bayswater-Morley captain Liam O’Connor won the toss and elected to bat on a warm Saturday.

Luis Reece had the Bears on the back foot early with two wickets before Rob Guy blasted his first century of the campaign.

Guy smashed 12 fours and three sixes as he combined with Mitch Todd (52) to steer the side to a massive total.

Josh Philippe then piled on the pain with 88 from 86 balls.
