Ballajura president Lawrie Kane said Roebuck was a valuable member of the club.

“In Ron’s time at Ballajura, he has umpired at least two games every weekend giving him a tally of over 250 games with us,” Kane said.

“Ron moved to our club as the then-president Tammy Jolley was trying to rebuild the club.

“He has umpired all grades for us and still at 72 contacts us at the start of the season to make sure we can provide him with two games.”

Kane said the umpire was passionate about football and maintaining fitness each week.

“Ron has never had to call in sick in his time at Ballajura,” he said.
