EAST Perth Eagles’ men side suffered a two-point loss to Goldfields Giants at the weekend, 85-83.
Kevin Davis worked hard with a high shooting percentage by making 10 out of 12 field shots and finished with 25 points, 16 rebounds and four assists, while Mason Bragg added 16 points, four rebounds and four assists, with Drew Williamson contributing 15 points and six assists.
Coach Joe Tupaea said the team was disappointed with the loss after struggling from the start.
“Discipline again was an issue for us as we let the game go,” he said.
“We managed to finally get control of the game late in the fourth but not doing the simple things like boxing out and rotating on defence cost us dearly.
“A tough loss to swallow but we have to keep pushing through…you have to go thru the thorns to get to the roses.”
Both the men and women teams have a double header this weekend, with an away game on May 26 against Lakeside Lightning followed by a home game on May 27 against Stirling Senators at Morley Sport and Recreation Centre.
