SBL: Tom Jervis’ return lifts East Perth Eagles to rare win

Belinda CiprianoEastern Reporter

The newly-signed Brisbane Bullets big man stepped up to the plate to take his team to their fourth win at their home base in Morley, defeating the Wolves 100-96 last Saturday and the Giants at the weekend 92-90.

Jervis top scored against the Wolves with 30 points and made the men’s SBL team of the week along with Perth Redbacks’ Michael Vigor, Lakeside Lightning’s Daniel Alexander, South West Slammer Tre Nichols and Perry Lakes Hawks’ Brian Carlwell.

Fans of Jervis, who was recruited from the Eagles to the Wildcats in 2013 while he was dominating in the SBL, are hoping more game time in the SBL will boost his team’s fortunes.

“The beast returns,” Vaughan Lee Doyle commented on the team’s Facebook page.
