Skateboarding WA director Ben Bowring said the championships marked the first stop for the 2018 Skateboarding WA Championship series.

“We chose to start the series at Crimea because it is one of the State’s only true street plazas that suits technical street skateboarding,” he said.

“Every year the skill level of local skateboarding in Western Australia continues to grow.

“Much of the skill development is also thanks to quality skateboarding facilities like Crimea that provide a street environment for skateboarders to practice in.”

The championships take place at Crimea Park on January 12 from 7pm to 10pm.
