SOUTHERN Suns’ Jamie Woodman was named MVP for the Ultimate Ice Hockey Challenge following his team’s 6-2 win over the Northern Stars in the decider at the Cockburn Ice Arena on Saturday.
The Suns won the second match 3-2 after going down 4-2 in the first game.
Challenge founder and Suns player John Caputo, who scored in the second match, said the second annual competition had been a success.
Caputo said more than $3000 was raised for Telethon.
“We believe the people who were there this year will be back next year when we expect capacity crowds,” he said.
