WACA Premier Cricket: Bayswater-Morley drop first innings points to South Perth

Kristie LimEastern Reporter

BAYSWATER-Morley has already suffered a first innings defeat against South Perth in an intense day at Richardson Park in their Premier Cricket clash on Saturday.

On a crazy day, an amazing 22 wickets fell on the first day of the Round 13 clash, which has all but ended Bayswater-Morley’s slim finals hopes.

The Bears started terrifically to have the Sky Blues 3-2 inside the first few overs before a middle-order partnership kept the home side alive.

Nathan Rimmington was superb upon his return taking 6-48, as the hosts were bowled out for just 134.

Jonty Wilde (2-35 from 17 overs) was economical for his two wickets as he continues a strong season.

Sam Birchall and Alex Bevilaqua then destroyed the Bears batting line-up as they were bowled out for 81.

Mitch Todd and Stephen Jennings were the only batsman to pass 20, in a disappointing display.

South Perth finished 1-14 in the second innings, with Rimmington taking his seventh wicket for the day.
