BAYSWATER-MORLEY gave premiership favourites Claremont-|Nedlands an almighty scare in round 7 of Premier Cricket on Saturday.

The Bears ultimately fell short in an exciting fixture at Hillcrest Reserve as they tried to defend their day-one score of 221.

Jonty Wilde and Nathan Rimmington ripped through the Tigers’ top order to reduce the leaders to 4-84.

But the Tigers gained momentum through the middle order to eventually run out the winners.

Wilde finished with three wickets for the Bears, while Rimmington managed two in a strong display.

Liam O’Connor was also important with ball in hand as the Bears remain down in 10th position.
