WAFL: Matt Riggio named Swans’ best for 2016

Players, coaches, club legends and members attended the awards night, where the season’s best were recognised.

Premiership midfielder Matt Riggio polled 130 votes to win back-to-back Swan Medals ahead of Adam Faulkner and Tony Notte. Riggio averaged 25.7 disposals in his 20 games this season and also represented WA in the State game.

Forward Ricky Cary won the Ted Holdsworth Memorial Award for leading goal kicker for the second time.

Ruckman Jake Nuich, who had a testicular cancer scare, won the Jack Hickling Memorial Award for most outstanding player on and off the field.
