Belinda CiprianoEastern Reporter

HISTORY was made in the WA Women’s Football League on Sunday at Leederville Oval with a clean sweep by the Swan Districts Football Club.

Reigning premiers, the Swan Districts’ league team went back-to-back in their fifth-straight league grand final against rivals Coastal Titans, winning 44-15.

It followed opening matches by the U18s and Reserves, which saw the U18s take out the Rogers Cup against South Fremantle 25-15 and the Reserves defeat East Fremantle 26-15.

Captain and best-on-ground Kara Donnellan said it was a black-and-white kind of a day.

“Three from three – history created,” she said.

“Yesterday was incredible, the greatest day in our club’s history. Winning all three grand finals, it can’t get much better than that.”

Best on ground for the Reserves was Swans player Susan Chuot, while in the U18s it was Mikayla Hyde, also from Swans.
