The Council for the National Interest, in conjunction with the Family Council of WA, recently held a community forum on the scourge of drug addiction.
Featuring academics, drug experts and former addicts, the forum was geared around how to help people spiralling into addiction.
WestTV was there to speak to those involved.
The thoughts of the panel were enlightening, with former drug user Peter Lyndon-James describing his descent into full-blown addiction as being on a train.
Mr Lyndon-James said the experience was fun at first, but he soon looked around and saw no one else in the carriage and he could only get off when the train hit a wall.
