After three months of regularly dining at the restaurant, Mr El-Akour asked for a job, starting work as a dishwasher, then a cook, then head chef, working for eight years |to make local diners fall in love with the place as much as |he had.

Realising a life dream, he is now the owner of La Porchetta after buying the family restaurant in December.

Mr El-Akour said he had big ideas for the restaurant he had fallen in love with all those years ago.

“Since I was 16 I wanted to own a restaurant and then when I stared to work for La Porchetta I knew I wanted to buy a La Porchetta restaurant one day,” he said.
