ONE of Fremantle’s favourite venues has become just that much more cooler.

Freo.Social’s beer kitchen is opening on Friday with a range of delectable dishes to complement the venue’s range of beers and good vibes.

The menu features 22 dishes that are closely connected with beer, most of which are designed to be shared.

Among the dishes are ale sausages, beetroot salad and bacon slab salad.

The venue, which opened in March, had previously been offering meals out of a food truck and food carts.

Group venue manager Matt Marinich said the communal aspect of sharing the dishes was important to the philosophy of the menu.

“It’s been six months in the making, it’s been a dream of mine and the chef (Garth Cleveland) to combine beer and food to create a point of difference,” he said.

“We have focused on locally-sourced fruit, vegetables and seafood.

“Almost all of the menu items have beer or are beer-inspired.”

Mr Cleveland said the ethos behind the menu was to create simple food with big flavours and to use local produce.

“It’s my first time being a head chef so I’m not used to all of this but I just want to make food that people enjoy,” he said.
