ROBBIE Porritt is taking the experience of living in tropical Queensland locations as the inspiration for his latest exhibition.
The Fremantle artist lived on the east coast for eight years, including Melbourne before moving to Noosa and then living by the Mary River basin before returning home about 18 months ago.
His exhibition Wild Waves, Women and Waterfalls will take place on one afternoon between 2pm and 6pm on September 28 at the Stackwood Creative Space.

READ NOWHe is known as frontman of the 1970s rock band The Manikins but also for his art, which has been collected by the Art Gallery of WA, UWA and hospitals in Queensland.
Porritt said he moved to Queensland for a tree change following some time in Melbourne.
“The location that I was living near the Mary River was called Crystal Waters and it was the type of place you could get lost in the hinterland,” he said.
“It was very tropical place, lots of snakes and kangaroos.”
Porritt said he hoped people coming along to the exhibition took away an appreciation of nature.
“I want people to respect beaches and understand that water is a precious commodity,” he said.
“I knew Stackwood was the perfect place for this exhibition, there’s fresh plants and it’s got a great vibe.”
