Dance under stars at Fremantle Arts Centre

Jessica NicoFremantle Gazette

DANCE will be coming to the Fremantle Arts Centre when the LINK Dance Company performs Shanghai Bolero this month.

Choreographed by Didier Theron and set to the music of Maurice Ravel’s Bolero, it will be the Australia premiere of the show, and in a rarity the audience will be able to enjoy the performance under the stars.

The piece explores sensuality, broken up into three interpretations of the same score, the male and female dancers initially separated before coming together in the third section.

LINK is the WA Academy of Performing Arts’ resident dance company and includes names like Lisa Barry, Rita Bush, Dean Ryan Lincoln and Alexander Perrozzi.
