The mother-son duo takes readers on a journey about life, people and animals in We All Sleep with poetic languages and bright, eye-catching colour. Kwaymullina said the story focused on the lives of everyday animals.
“Often we don’t take notice of the beautiful creatures that share the world with us, so it’s a story about stopping and taking notice,” he said.
“Australia has some of the most beautiful animals in the world and I wanted all of the animals to be Australian to showcase that.”
