JAKE Dennis is a master of the performing arts.

A self-confessed crooner, actor and a poet, Mr Dennis was born for a life on stage, revelling in entertaining the audience and getting them to buy in with whatever character or story he is trying to portray.

Crediting performers like Perth actress and singer Rhonda Lopez and American entertainer Movin' Melvin Brown as inspiration, its little wonder he has a passion for the stage.

"I have always been a huge fan of theatre and admire the way the actors use gestures, costume, setting, character and props to elevate the story.

"I love to get people involved in the story and to work on stage with local West Australian talent."

He will be putting on his musician's hat this Friday as he jumps on stage at the Fremantle Fibonacci Centre for a night of jazz, swing and blues in the one-night-only performance, Classic Crooners.

Mr Dennis will join the Mint Jazz Band performing the classics made famous by names like Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Michael Buble and Bobby Darin, but he said the audience should expect to hear a bit of individuality mixed in with their favourites.

"People love crooners, but they also respect individuality, so rather than performing an imitator's tribute show, I perform the crooners best songs in my own style," he said.

"The driving force behind the show was choosing songs by crooners people love and putting on an entertaining show that they could enjoy with family and friends.

"The Fib is such a funky venue and it is a terrific place for a show, especially with the support the venue shows for local artists and musicians.

"If you love a great fun night out, a remarkable venue which offers scrumptious wood fired pizzas, then you have to come and see us at the Fib."
