McNab will take on the role of Miss Oona Crowe in the Irish Theatre Players’ production of A Man of No Importance.

Based on the acclaimed 1994 film of the same name, the musical follows the life of Dublin bus driver Alfie Byrne, a man filled with secrets he cannot tell anyone, so he buries himself in putting on amateur |theatre productions based on the works of Oscar Wilde.

McNab said her character was a middle-aged spinster who was passionate about her theatrical group, The St Imelda’s Players.

“She takes her role as the costume designer very seriously but, at the same time, is always enthusiastic and cheerful,” she said. “The main challenge has been learning the Irish accent, we have had to work particularly hard on that.
