Photographer captures essence of Perth in new book

PERTH is a beautiful place, but sometimes that beauty can be taken for granted.

PERTH is a beautiful place, but sometimes that beauty can be taken for granted.

Photographer Frances Andrijich is hoping to open people’s eyes to the splendour of Fremantle, the city, the hills, Rottnest Island and many more in her new photography book, aptly titled Perth.

Andrijich is no stranger to the camera, her shots featuring in publications around the world, but she said there was a vibrancy and colour about Perth that she really wanted to capture.

“Many months went into producing this book, whether this was constantly being on the lookout for photography opportunities or revisiting a particular location for that perfect shot multiple times, which made this both a rewarding and challenging project,” she said.

“In an ever-increasing documented world you still want your pictures to stand out and people to react to them.

“I really wanted to capture the things that take your gaze in this beautiful city, whether it’s the pristine beaches, the vibrant art scene, the ever-growing food culture – things that attract visitors and locals alike to our city.”
