Truffles take centre stage at foodie festival

Now locals have the chance to get up close and personal with the fungus when Fremantle Markets invites chefs, foodies and truffle lovers to its Truffle Festival this weekend.

The festival will include a five-course long table truffle dinner on the 13th, with an array of featured truffle dishes and products.

Fremantle Markets Marketing and Business Development manager Natasha Atkinson said it was the first year the markets would hold the event.

‘Truffle products will be on offer to sample and purchase from participating stalls in the Fremantle Markets and in Truffle Lane,’ she said.

‘Our special long table dinner will be the best truffle picnic you have ever attended.

‘If you have never tried truffle before you can come to this event and taste a variety of different dishes with the truffle, in the heart of Fremantle.’
