THE $20 million ‘glamping’ resort on Rottnest Island is set to open on March 1.

Located at iconic Pinky Beach, guests got a sneak peak of Discovery – Rottnest Island and Pinky’s Beach Resort at the launch party on Friday night.

It is the first accommodation to be built on the island in more than 30 years and the island’s first eco-resort and glamping experience.

Discovery – Rottnest Island features 83 eco tents in a range of configurations. The tents were made from sustainable materials and have minimal impact on the surrounding environment.

Accommodation starts from $119 per night in the low season for a standard tent to $592 per night for a deluxe eco-tent in high season.

Pinky Beach and the lighthouse serves as a stunning backdrop for Pinky’s Beach Club. There is an expansive grassed area with lounges and an alfresco dining section to capitalise on the view.

The casual dining restaurant will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner to resort guests and visitors to Rottnest. Patrons can enjoy a range of locally inspired dishes, WA wines, craft beers and cocktails. There is also a pink beverage menu.

The 30m resort pool and pool bar is for the exclusive use of resort guests.

Pinky’s Beach Club would be the ideal setting for weddings and private functions.

The venture has created more than 70 employment opportunities.
