FOR the second consecutive year a number of talented juniors will head east in October to take part in the Tournament of Minds Australasian finals.

Six Aubin Grove Primary School students will head to Sydney for the tournament, which calls on competitors to solve demanding, open-ended challenges from different disciplines.

The Cockburn school qualified to compete against schools from Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Thailand after taking out the state finals of the language literature division at Edith Cowan University.

Deputy principal Mesha Steele said the school was hoping to fundraise about $1500 to help send the team east.

“We are thrilled that we have had another win this year to back up our win in the state competition last year and receiving runners-up in the Australasian competition in 2014,” she said.
