Affordable land and housing project planned for Treeby

Bryce LuffFremantle Gazette

A NEW “affordable land and housing project” is being planned for Treeby.

State Housing Minister Brendon Grylls has called for expressions of interest (EOI) from developers keen to work with the Housing Authority to transform a 20ha site on Ghostgum Avenue and Armadale Road.

The project could deliver more than 300 residential lots.

“This is an attractive opportunity for the sector to work with the Government to deliver a well-connected and liveable community with excellent access to amenities and services,” Mr Grylls said.

The project will help the Government reach its target of 30,000 affordable homes for people on low-to-moderate incomes by 2020.

Mr Grylls said more than 24,500 homes had already been delivered.

The EOI period closes January 18.
