SILVER Chain celebrated their 110th anniversary in a different way recently, welcoming volunteers to their Multicultural Social Centre in Hilton to help improve their garden area.

Alcoa Refining and Australia Region president Michael Parker and other staff from the company’s Booragoon office donated 50 hours of their time to the Hilton centre, working on the outdoor area and garden.

Mr Parker said there was a mutual responsibility for both the business and local communities.

“We believe for our business to thrive, so must the communities where we operate and Month of Service offers our employees the opportunity to actively, and in a fun way, make a difference where they live and work,” he said.
