In October, Lonely Planet named Fremantle a Top Ten city to visit in 2016.

It came in at number seven, wedged in between Mumbai at number six and eighth-placed Manchester.

To build on that, the council last week released a two-and-half minute video to capture “the excitement felt in the port city”.

It isn’t the slickest production but does feature many of the places the City is famous for, including the Dingo Flour Mill, its heritage-listed prison, and the harbour. The video, which includes music by Fremantle band San Cisco, can be viewed on the City’s YouTube page.

At State level the Government is planning to unveil a new tourism campaign to highlight all WA has to offer. Tourism Minister Kim Hames said the campaign would be about celebrating our natural and built attractions.
