A 600sqm ice rink for skating fun is the key attraction, but also included is ice hockey and figure skating demonstrations, a snow target range, a pop-up slide and carnival rides.
Fremantle deputy mayor Josh Wilson said the event brought a strange and wonderful landscape to the heart of Fremantle for everyone to enjoy. "Freo is perhaps better known for its day-time festivals and summer culture, but winter brings out another side of the port city, and there are lots of opportunities to stay warm, eat well, dance or listen to live music, and make the most of cooler weather," he said.
"The Winter Garden will add a special magic to Fremantle this winter, transforming the Esplanade and providing a perfect outdoor focus to accompany our Hidden Treasures music program which runs on Thursday nights through July."
