Staff ReporterFremantle Gazette

The City was set to implement the law on August 21.

Fremantle Mayor Brad Pettitt said the City still intended to move forward with the initiative.

‘Reducing plastic bags is only the start of reducing plastic use in Fremantle,’ he said.

‘We are also looking at locating some new water vending machines in the city to support the reduction of plastic bottle use and working with the Responsible Cafe’s program to support cafes that encourage use of re-useable coffee cups and containers.
